Abstract: |
This chapter describes the basic types of force platforms, their basic function and the process of their installation and validation. There is a detailed presentation of protocols of recording and analyzing three basic movements: walking, vertical jumping and balance on both feet. In addition, the chapter presents the basic principles of pressure platform function. Recording protocols, such as single and double stance, using pressure platforms are also described. The basic variables of pressure platform analysis are also described such as maximum pressure, area – specific pressure, pressure integral, as well as evaluation of static and dynamic balance (maximum displacement and standard deviation of the center of pressure and area of the center of pressure path).
