Description: | |
Abstract: |
This chapter starts with a description of the main cloud types, followed by a presentation of the characteristics of atmospheric aerosols and their importance in cloud formation. The main part of this chapter deals with the physical mechanisms of cloud formation and cloud droplet growth by using basic laws to arrive at analytical expressions. This chapter deals also with the basic mechanisms of precipitation.
