Abstract: |
The 7th chapter refers to one of the trends, which will constitute, in our estimation, the main direction of design and formation of the contemporary work space. It introduces the main principles of sustainable design practices, in the context of which the office space constitutes one of the most energy-consuming categories of building that can work in the smallest surcharge of natural and near environment, but also that can constitute spaces of qualitative living for their users. It deals with systems and ways in which environmental consequences of office buildings are evaluated, as well as with the possibility of diminishing these consequences, in two sub-chapters: “The architectural envelopel” and “The interior space”. In both chapters, parameters of design are analysed, referring to environmentl conditions, function of building cells inside them, systems of passive exploitation of natural energy sources, as well as designing characteristics of interior spaces, which can contribute to the comfort and health of their users – visual, thermal, organic and psychological – and as a consequence their satisfaction from their work environment.
